With two games remaining in the first phase of the Men's Territorial Handball League, Ca´Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero remains at the top of the standings and consolidating the lead after the victory against Moya Tilover – Bar Churrería Moya. The team led by Toño González won 28-24 against the Gran Canaria team, thus adding the seventh victory of the season.
Moya Tilover has been the only team this season to snatch a victory from Ca´Mario Lanzarote, a circumstance they wanted to demonstrate once again last Saturday. The first minutes of the match were dominated by the Gran Canaria team, with Jesús Rodríguez scoring from the left wing to put 1-3 on the scoreboard at Titerroy.
The reaction of Ca´Mario Lanzarote was immediate, tying the score and even gaining a three-goal lead. Pedro Noda's exclusion did not prevent the Lanzarote team from achieving a 3-0 run in numerical inferiority, making it 9-6 with goals from Cristian Lujan and Airam Torres (2), forcing the Moya Tillover coach to request a timeout.
Ca´Mario Lanzarote managed to have a maximum advantage of five goals in the first half, with the youth player Dani Martín scoring 14-9 with four minutes remaining until halftime. At the end of the first 30 minutes of the match, the score was 16-12.
Moya Tilover was not going to make it easy in the second half, with a fierce defense to stop the attacking actions of Sergio Morera and Cristian Luján, players who carried the weight of the locals' offensive actions. The Gran Canaria team was only two goals behind in several phases of the second half, even having chances to get within one goal.
