“Butxaca” by Joaquín Blanco, leader in OCR 3 to 5 at the end of the first day of the XI César Manrique Trophy

The boat “Butxaca” of the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, skippered by Joaquín Blanco Roca, leads the general classification and the ORC 3 to 5 category at the end of the first day of the “XI Trofeo César Manrique – RCNA – Calero Marinas”.

They are followed in the general by “Lanzarote Sailing Paradise” by Ye Cabrera (RCNA) and leader of the ORC 1 to 2. The third place was for the winner of the San Ginés Regatta “Alpispa 2", commanded by Francisco J. Olivares of the Club Marítimo Varadero of Gran Canaria, which is placed second in ORC 3 to 5.

Two races were held with a wind of 14 to 18 knots of intensity established between 350 and 050 degrees. The boats of the ORC E class made a route from the Arrecife Commercial Dock to La Mareta (Costa Teguise) with the finish line in Arrecife. For their part, the ORC 1 to 5, left in front of the Lanzarote Airport to carry out a windward – leeward with the finish line in the Arrecife Dock.

Joaquín Blanco with the “Butxaca” won the two victories in ORC 3 to 5, the boat “Alpispa 2” achieved second place in both races and the “Matador” by Cristóbal Amador (RCNT)  repeated as third in the two regattas. In the same order they remain in the provisional classification of their class.

In ORC 1 to 2, “Lanzarote Sailing Paradise” achieved a double triumph taking the lead, “Jalapeña” by Paul Van Leeuwen (RCNA) is second after finishing 4th and 2nd. Third place for the “Katanga” by Raymond Pattenden.
