The match between CD Tahíche and Puerto del Carmen, corresponding to the semi-finals of the play-off of the First Regional of Lanzarote, will not go down in history for the game that took place on the field. Unfortunately, it will be remembered for the aggression of a Puerto del Carmen player to the referee of the match. It was the 89th minute when Fran "Tata" headbutted the referee Hugo Ricardo Delgado, having to suspend the match.
The second leg of the tie was played on Saturday afternoon. Puerto del Carmen in the first leg had achieved a slight advantage, winning by the minimum thanks to the goal of Cristo "Caballo". Tahíche came out stronger on the field, taking just five minutes to equalize the tie. Saúl was the author of the goal for CD Tahíche.
Before the break, Puerto del Carmen equalized the match. Nelson scored the goal for the tiñosero team and reached the break with the result of 1-1. A draw that forced CD Tahíche to score two goals in the second half if they wanted to turn the score around. Samuel would put Tahíche back in the game, scoring the 2-1 after a free kick.
With a few minutes left until the end of the match, the play occurred that overheated the match excessively. The referee whistled a penalty for an action inside the area defended by Puerto del Carmen. Maikel Brito was in charge of transforming the penalty and establishing the 3-1. A result that gave the pass momentarily to CD Tahíche.
With one minute left until the end of the match, Fran "Tata", a player from Puerto del Carmen, committed a foul on the sideline and the referee showed him the second yellow card of the match. At that moment, Fran "Tata" went to the referee and headbutted him, which impacted Hugo Ricardo's cheekbone. An action that left the referee groggy and caused the suspension of the match.
The aggression of the Puerto del Carmen player caused a brawl on the field, with pushes and kicks, even breaking one of the benches. A Puerto del Carmen player attacked the refereeing informant who was in the stands. In the referee's report, in addition to the aggressor, three more Puerto del Carmen players are identified, including the aggressor to the refereeing informant and players who threatened the referee.
The events have been reported by the referee and it will be the ordinary justice that has to intervene in this case. Next Wednesday a quick trial is held, in which the aggression of Fran "Tata" to the referee Hugo Ricardo Delgado will be judged. The referee suffers slight physical sequelae and especially psychological sequelae. After the event, Hugo Ricardo has not stopped receiving the support of all levels of the world of football and sports.
