Abian Delgado, belonging to the Hang On Climbing Climbing Club of Lanzarote, has won the second prize in the Children's League championship held at The Climb climbing wall in Madrid, last Sunday, April 23.
The lucky one to win the second place was Abian Delgado Thonfeld, a ten-year-old boy. It is not the first championship in which he has been a winner, since he also took second place in the 2022 Canary Islands Cup.
A sport that "has gained a lot of momentum" after the Olympics and all thanks to the Hang on Climbing Lanzarote center, which "is doing a great job" with many "young promises", creating "a breeding ground that will be talked about in the future", acknowledges Abian's father, Jorge Delgado Sánchez.
The championship consists of four tests, of which the first has already been held, consisting of 15 blocks, one route and two tests with rope. The next one will be next Sunday, May 14 at the Indorwall Torrejón climbing center, again in Madrid.
