Great victory by the minimum of Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen against Sporting La Rioja in the Municipal Pavilion of Tías, in the match in which the first and second classified of the Women's Silver Honor Division in its Group B faced each other.

The local team took to the court with shirts of encouragement to their captain, Atteneri Morales, seriously injured in the last league match.

Equality was the tonic in the first bars of the match, with identical results in the attack plays in one and another team. The rotundity with which the Riojan team defended resulted in the first exclusion of the match at 10 minutes, taking advantage of this circumstance to begin to distance the locals on the scoreboard, forcing the visiting bench to ask for a time out.

After returning to the court, and two local exclusions, the peninsular team redirected the situation, which led Miguel Ángel Lemes to ask for a time out with the score of 10 to 8 after 16 minutes. The return to the court was lived with intensity by the yellow team that came out well in counterattacks and played safely in defense, which allowed them to go to the break with a score of 17 to 11.

Sporting La Rioja, who did not want to be 4 points behind the leader at the end of the match, played with more order in the second half, knowing how to defend in the creation of the Lanzarote team's game and covering the gaps to avoid clear shots.

This circumstance, together with the fatigue that began to overwhelm Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen due to the effort made, allowed the Riojan team to cut differences in the score, going from 6 advantage to only 1 in 13 minutes of the second half played.

With the time out requested by Puerto del Carmen, tranquility returned to the island team, which was, little by little, to return the difference in the score, but again the visitors became strong, preventing the circulation of the ball and taking advantage of the superiorities generated, to get back into the game.

As the minutes passed, the peninsular team began to believe in their possibilities, while the locals asked for the support of the noisy Tías public to achieve the two points at stake. A goal by Mariia Boklashchuk with 1 minute left put the match on the table, asking for a time out the local team.

What was planned by Miguel Ángel Lemes could not be carried out by the personalized defense of the rivals but, a stroke of genius by Rosa Álvarez to see a run by Bea Betancor allowed her to put her team ahead on the scoreboard with 24 seconds left, asking Álvaro Marín for a time out. The defense of those seconds by the Lanzarote team prevented Sporting La Rioja from scoring and the yellow team took the victory, which adds up to victory all the matches of the first round and extends the difference with their pursuers to 4 points, starting the second part of the competition next Friday.

Once the match was over, the local players thanked their fans for having come, many of them with toys so that no child in Tías is left without Kings, and all those present sang happy birthday to Famara Fernández, celebrating it publicly, local and visiting players eating pastries.
