Everyone complains about low salaries, a hellish labor market, unbearable taxes, terrible healthcare waiting lists, shameful judicial inaction, uncertain pensions, citizen insecurity, and a grave risk to national unity due to the separatist coup. Spaniards are perplexed by the privileges granted to those who enter our country illegally or even violently, privileges that Spaniards who have contributed to Social Security for decades do not enjoy. No one understands the judicial tolerance towards those who commit crimes and the institutional support enjoyed by those who occupy private property. There is indignation about the inequality among Spaniards when applying for jobs depending on which part of Spain they apply in, weariness regarding educational inequality, and extreme tension caused by the fiscal differences between regions. There is enormous concern about the public debt, which continues to increase, and the deficit, which fails to fall below 2.5%; this concern is felt by Spaniards precisely because of the inviability and unsustainability of Spain. There is also a widespread rejection of the over-dimensioning of public administrations and the incomprehensible number of useless politicians who increase spending and force the annual upward fiscal adjustment. And finally, I briefly allude to the level of weariness regarding corruption and the classic "you too", a level that reaches biblical proportions, proportions that seriously endanger the trust of Spaniards in our democratic system. Spain is in a perverse self-destructive spiral sadly perceived by the vast majority of Spaniards.
The PP and PSOE, which are the political forces that have governed in the current democratic era, have a direct responsibility for the unsustainable situation in which Spain finds itself. Ciudadanos is in change-of-heart mode, willing to agree with both, and with whoever it takes, in order to co-govern. Meanwhile, Unidas Podemos and its Circles are neither present nor expected because they do not emerge from the absurdity of their Chavist-Marxist-anti-system approaches, which have proven to be fatal over the last 100 years.
Well, after the sociological description of the previous two paragraphs, surprisingly there are those who present themselves on the lists of PP, PSOE, Ciudadanos, and Unidas Podemos, who are the people to whom I dedicate this opinion article. Nerve, cheek, brazenness, shamelessness, opportunist, freeloader, exploiter, leech, bloodsucker, sponger, moocher, money-grabber, parasite, how rich and diverse Spanish is! I could continue writing synonyms, but it would be too tedious. In any case, all these are qualifiers for those who present themselves on the lists of those political parties that have governed Spain, or that have helped to govern those who have. Those political parties directly or indirectly guilty of the mess we face.
You have to be as thick as two short planks to run in an election and promise in a campaign, under the banner of the political forces that have caused the chaos described because they have governed or agreed with those who have governed, solutions for the economic, social, and territorial situation that we Spaniards suffer. I repeat, you have to have more face than a bull with mumps to, being the arsonist, disguise yourself as a firefighter and claim to be able to extinguish the fire previously caused. But, precisely this is what the millions of Spaniards who will vote soon are going to punish.
Speaking positively, and not just for the sake of it but because what I am saying is really plausible, the vote will be massive for those who have never governed or agreed to governments and, therefore, have not the slightest responsibility for the limit situation we all complain about. The vote will be for those who will minimize the State and make it cheaper, which in turn will collapse taxes. For those who will intervene less in everything, which will increase the freedom of each one. For those who will prioritize the rights of Spaniards, putting them before the rights of the rest of Humanity (which in most aspects said Humanity does not even have rights in Spain). For those who will truly equalize Spaniards and end absurd gender, territorial, linguistic, health, educational, security, fiscal, and economic inequalities. And, in short, for those who come to make Spain viable.
The vote for VOX is unstoppable and the brazen ones are standing by in awe.
