In recent weeks, we have been learning through the press about the intentions of the educational administrations to reduce the safety distance in classrooms and the possible increase in the number of students per classroom, a circumstance that would lead to the unemployment of nearly 40,000 reinforcement teachers incorporated due to the pandemic.
Learning about all this through the media demonstrates the lack of negotiating will on the part of the Ministry of Education.
In the last ten years, coinciding with the previous economic crisis and the cuts in the Autonomous Communities, the staff was reduced by 16,922 teachers, starting to recover part of these only in the last year.
In addition, from CSIF we advocate for earmarked investments from European funds, which allow to expand the staff in the 2021-2022 academic year, reduce teaching hours and improve, in short, the quality of education.
All this contrasts with the number of "buddies" or "connected people" (as you want to say), that proliferate through the dependencies of the Education ministries and that usually perform administrative tasks typical of another type of employees of the Administration.
These "buddies" and "connected people" are frequently "rescued" from the classroom and accommodated, without any transparency, in offices of the various Education premises (including the CEP) as coordinators or heads of the 'orgy' of programs that exist, most of them empty of content and with public money in between.
There are not too many teachers, but advisors, "buddies" or "connected people".
For a quality public education.
