The educational assistant belongs to group IV of the labor personnel of the Ministry of Education. “Under the supervision of the immediate superior, they provide assistance, care and training to the student or resident, collaborating in the execution of their activities and acting in coordination with the other members of the educational team, as well as contributing to the development of the affective and socialization relationship.” Their function, therefore, is quite important, especially in the early stages of student development.
For the hiring of these professionals, the Ministry of Education has lists of people who are willing to work, as it could not be otherwise, but we find that, in recent years, the practice has been established, on the part of the educational Administration, of using private companies. Instead of resorting to its own lists, with people willing to provide their services, it opts for outsourcing arbitrarily.
There are even embarrassing cases of people on the list who are summoned to sign a contract and on the day of signing, the Administration tells the interested party that nothing will be signed and all this without giving any explanation.
There is, therefore, a high degree of arbitrariness and lack of transparency in this type of contracting that should be corrected.
