The City Council of Yaiza has announced the execution of the arrangement of the 2.4-kilometer stretch of road between the roundabout of the IES Yaiza and the roundabout at the entrance to the town of Puerto Calero in Puerto Calero, with an investment of 897,000 euros from "municipal resources"

The mayor of the municipality, Óscar Noda, maintains that it is executed by giving "to a rehabilitation project in favor of road safety that also includes the resurfacing of the IES Yaiza parking lot". Noda was present this week at the beginning of the action in the company of the Councilor for Public Works, Jonatan Lemes, the Councilor for Education, Silvia Santana, as well as technicians from the City Council and technicians from the contracting company.

The basic commission consists, according to reports from the City Council, of "the repaving and improvement of the road surface", and they add that the project "also orders the conduction of rainwater, the construction of two shoulders, one of them, the one on the west side, two meters wide to facilitate the practice of sports, and the paving of the esplanade used as a bus parking lot for the IES Yaiza”.

“The City Council will deliver to the service a much safer road with a deep intervention because it is an aging road with many deficiencies that supports the traffic that deviates from the LZ-2 and the traffic from the road that connects Puerto Calero and Puerto del Carmen”, points out the mayor, who adds that “there is no doubt that we are a supportive municipality, because the project benefits our neighbors, but also benefits the citizens residing in Tías”.

Óscar Noda recalls that the City Council "already informed the Directorate of Road Infrastructure of the Government of the Canary Islands about this action, proposing the inclusion of the road", within the Catalog of Roads of the Canary Islands and therefore, its classification as a road of regional interest.
