The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, signed last Friday the decree of award that resolves the public tender to execute the works of the waste pre-collection point that will improve the health, functionality and aesthetics conditions in the central residential area of Playa Blanca, a municipal project that will benefit residents living in the urban area surrounding the town's indoor soccer court.

According to the City Council, Noda will sign the contract "shortly" so that the awarded company Transporte y Excavaciones Tiagua can carry out the works, which have a budget of 212,000 euros and a maximum execution period of three months, as established in the tender.

“We presented the project to the Island Council to finance it with funds from the Municipal Cooperation Plan and we have more initiatives pending to finance other projects of general interest through this same Plan and the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), such as the modernization project of the town's indoor soccer court that has been in the hands of the Island Council since last January,” recalls the mayor.

Regarding the container station already awarded, the Councilor for Public Works of Yaiza, Jonatan Lemes, explains that it is the first to be executed of a total of three that will be built in "sensitive areas" of Playa Blanca that demand this type of action. "The objective is to create a comfortable, clean and accessible point to avoid the dispersion of garbage around the containers, of course, assuming citizen collaboration," he concludes.
