The Cabildo of Lanzarote has started work on the renovation and expansion of public lighting on the LZ-2 road and the necessary underground conduits, on the section between the towns of Arrecife and Playa Honda.
From the Corporation they have detailed that the works, which will last three months, were awarded for an amount of 397,643.29 euros, and will allow to provide "better road safety conditions to one of the roads that supports more road traffic every day on the Island".
The president, María Dolores Corujo, highlights that this intervention "demanded by the users of the road", comes to replace "an obsolete lighting, replacing half a hundred double light points with LED technology, which will allow significant energy savings, as well as the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions."
This action, which will be co-financed by the Cabildo's own funds and the Canary Islands Development Funds (FDCAN), also contemplates "the installation of twelve new double points and 22 single points, to expand the coverage radius and light pollution of this road."
