The water consumed in the different events organized or co-organized by the Culture Area of the Cabildo will be supplied from now on in tetra brik and returnable glass containers. This is what the Cabildo announced this Wednesday, which states that it is a "pioneering initiative on the island".

"It is a small grain of sand more through which the Institution wants to promote sustainability", said the president, María Dolores Corujo, who hopes that "it will serve as a precedent for other public administrations” on the Island.

After having tendered this new service, the spaces where the Department of Culture will place bottles of recyclable materials are the Víctor Fernández Gopar Theater 'El Salinero', the CIC El Almacén and the Lanzarote Crafts Fair, which will be held soon.

The Minister of Culture, Alberto Aguiar, stressed that the supply of bottled water "is important for the proper development of cultural events, so, considering the current state of climate emergency", they wanted to "find a way to help reverse this situation”.

"This action is added to those developed by the island Institution in compliance with the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals, present transversally in the policies developed by the Cabildo of Lanzarote", they point out from the institution.
