The Socialist Group in Tinajo has criticized the appearance of a municipal decree by which compensation is ordered for the use of a private vehicle to three members of the government group, including the mayor, Jesús Machín, and two other councilors from CC. According to the PSOE, Machín himself has signed a decree ordering the payment of 6,414 euros, "attending to the locomotion expenses during the months of January to September" of these three people.

"The mayor is using the municipal budget for his own benefit," the socialists denounce. "We do not understand how, after leading the Institution to be one of the most indebted municipalities in all of the Canary Islands, where each resident will have to pay 870 euros to settle the municipal debt, he has the audacity to use public money to cover his expenses," criticized the representative of the PSOE, Begoña Hernández.

The socialists have also recalled that, "making use of his absolute majority at the beginning of the mandate, Machín increased his salary, receiving an annual salary of 51,160 euros with exclusive dedication." Therefore, the PSOE regrets "how far from the social reality of the residents Jesús Machín is, who with 658 unemployed people in the municipality, receives 300 euros more per month for using his vehicle for travel."

In the same vein, the socialists wonder if "what the mayor earns does not allow him to pay for gasoline out of his own pocket, that he has to make use of the money of all the residents of the municipality."

For Begoña Hernández, "in addition to receiving a good salary", since "he is one of the mayors who earns the most on the entire island, Jesús Machín "wants to have more, at the expense of the municipal coffers that are precisely not buoyant."
