Tinajo resisted the PSOE again while it won in the rest of the island's municipalities

The socialists once again achieved their biggest victory in Arrecife and, unlike the April elections, this time they managed to win the Senate elections in Haría

The PSOE won in all the municipalities of the island in the general elections this Sunday except in Tinajo, a traditional stronghold of CC, which again resisted them. The socialists once again achieved their biggest victory in Arrecife and, unlike the April elections, they managed to win the Senate vote in Haría, where the nationalists won six months ago.

In the capital, the socialists obtained 33.95% of the support for the Senate and 33.18% of the votes for Congress, while the PP was the second force in the votes for both chambers. As for CC, which in these elections competed in coalition with NC, it repeated as the third force in the Senate and as the fifth force in Congress in Arrecife behind Podemos and Vox.

The nationalists once again won in Tinajo, although in the case of Congress only by 21 votes more than the PSOE, while in Haría they were the second force in both Congress and the Senate, after having managed to win in the votes to the Upper House in the April elections. In Teguise, although CC managed to be the second most voted party to Congress, this was not the case to the Senate, where it was the third force behind the PP.

For its part, in addition to Arrecife and Teguise, the Populars also managed to be the second most voted force in Tías and Yaiza both to Congress and the Senate. As for Ciudadanos, which experienced a real debacle this Sunday, was the sixth force in all the municipalities of the island.

 

Arrecife


Although in Arrecife the PSOE lost 715 votes to Congress compared to the April elections, with 6,835 votes it once again doubled the support for the PP, which was the second force with 3,331 (16.17%). As for the Senate, the socialist candidate, Manuel Fajardo, received 6,864 votes in the capital, 164 less than six months ago but almost 3,000 more than those obtained by the popular Joel Delgado this Sunday, who obtained 3,870 votes (19.14%).

As for the alliance formed by CC and NC, it was the third force in the Senate in Arrecife with 2,765 votes (13.68%) but the fifth in Congress with 2,442 (11.85%). The third place in Congress in the capital was for Podemos with 3,256 votes (15.80%), although the purple formation was fourth in the Senate with 2,718 votes (13.44%).

For its part, Vox was fourth in Congress in Arrecife with 2,778 votes (13.48%) and fifth in the Senate with 2,079 (10.28%), while Ciudadanos was the sixth force in both chambers in the capital with 906 votes to Congress (4.4%) and 851 to the Senate (4.21%).

 

Haría


In Haría, the PSOE also won both in the elections to Congress and the Senate, receiving 666 (30.36%) and 674 (31.97%) votes respectively, while CC-NC was the second most voted force in the municipality. The nationalists obtained 445 votes to Congress (20.28%) and 473 to the Senate (22.44%).

The third place in both chambers in Haría was for the PP, which obtained 369 votes to Congress (16.82%) and 429 to the Upper House (20.35%). Behind them were Podemos, with 355 votes to Congress (16.18%) and 254 to the Senate (12.05%); Vox with 254 to the Lower House (12.05%) and 114 (5.41%) to the Upper House; and Ciudadanos, which only obtained 56 votes to Congress (2.55%) and 50 to the Senate (2.37%).

 

San Bartolomé


The socialists also obtained a clear victory in San Bartolomé, where they obtained 2,274 votes to Congress (29.63%) and 2,136 to the Senate (30.40%). For their part, PP and Podemos exchanged positions in the votes. And, while the formation led by Pablo Iglesias was the second most voted force to Congress in San Bartolomé with 1,386 votes (18.06%) and the PP was the third force with 1,224 votes (15.95%), to the Senate the second position was for the Populars, who obtained 1,241 votes (17.66%) compared to the 1,091 obtained (15.53%) by the candidate of Podemos, Jorge Peñas.

The same happened with Vox and CC-NC and the fourth and fifth place to Congress and the Senate. In the vote to the Lower House, Vox obtained more votes in San Bartolomé than the nationalists, specifically 1,001 (13.04%), but in the elections to the Upper House it received less, in total 721 (10.26%). As for CC-NC, it was the fifth force to Congress in the municipality with 877 votes (11.43%), while to the Senate it was the fourth force with 993 (14.13%).

Ciudadanos was also the sixth force in San Bartolomé with 417 votes to Congress (5.43%) and 382 to the Senate (5.44%).

 

Teguise


In Teguise, the PSOE also won, receiving 2,268 votes to Congress (27.36%) and 2,279 to the Senate (28.06%), while CC-NC was the second force to the Lower House and the third to the Upper House. And, to Congress the nationalists obtained 1,434 votes (17.30%) compared to the 1,380 obtained by the PP (16.65%), but to the Senate they obtained less votes than the Populars. Specifically, the CC candidate, Samuel Martín, received 1,544 votes in Teguise (19.01%), while the popular Joel Delgado obtained 1,604 (19.75%).

For its part, Podemos was the fourth force to both Congress and the Senate in this municipality with 1,243 and 990 votes respectively, which represented 15 and 12.49 percent of the support. As for Vox, it was the fifth most voted party with 1,033 votes to Congress (12.46%) and 707 votes to the Senate (8.71%), while Ciudadanos obtained 512 votes to Congress (6.18%) and 474 to the Senate (5.84%), placing itself as the sixth force.

 

Tías


The PSOE won again in Tías, obtaining 1,529 votes to Congress (28.18%) and 1,562 to the Senate (29.58%), while the PP repeated as the second force in the municipality with 1,308 votes to the Lower House (24.11%) and 1,426 to the Upper House (27%).

In Congress, Vox was the third most voted party, obtaining 797 votes (14.69%), but in the Senate it was surpassed by Podemos with 602 votes (11.40%) compared to the 577 obtained by the party of Santiago Abascal (10.93%). To Congress, Podemos was the fourth force with 753 votes (13.88%).

For its part, the electoral alliance formed by CC-NC received 495 votes to Congress (9.12%) and 551 to the Senate (10.43%), being the fifth force to both chambers, followed by Ciudadanos, which obtained 280 votes to the Upper House (5.30%) and 306 to Congress (5.64%).


Tinajo


Tinajo was the only municipality on the island that resisted the PSOE and where CC managed to maintain its stronghold, although losing votes compared to the previous elections. And, in the April elections, the nationalists obtained 733 votes while, now, that they also did not compete alone, they obtained 650 (26.29%). As for the Senate, the alliance formed by CC-NC obtained 719 votes this Sunday (29.64%).

For its part, the PSOE received 629 votes to Congress (25.44%) and 712 to the Senate (25.14%) in Tinajo, while the PP was the third force with 359 votes to the Lower House (14.52%) and 419 to the Upper House (17.27%). Podemos was the fourth most voted party in the municipality with 340 votes to Congress (13.75%) and 253 to the Senate (10.43%), followed by Vox, with 291 votes to Congress (11.77%) and 173 to the Upper House (7.13%). For its part, Ciudadanos obtained 101 votes to Congress in Tinajo (4.09%) and 93 (3.83%) to the Senate.

 

Yaiza


Finally, in Yaiza the PSOE won, obtaining 1,010 votes to Congress (25.84%) and 1,010 (25.84%) to the Senate compared to the 705 and 750 obtained by the PP, respectively, to both chambers, and that led them to be placed as the second force in the municipality.

In Yaiza, Vox was the third most voted party to Congress with 636 votes (16.27%) although, however, to the Senate it was the fifth force with 468 votes (12.26%). Podemos was both the fourth force to Congress in Yaiza with 625 votes (15.99%) and to the Senate with 543 (14.22%) but CC-NC, which to Congress was the fifth most voted party with 527 votes (13.49%), was the third force to the Upper House with 621 votes (16.27%). As for Ciudadanos, it received 190 votes to Congress in Yaia (4.86%) and 173 to the Senate (4.53%).
