The Tinajo City Council presented this Wednesday the new equipment of the Local Police of Tinajo consisting of the acquisition of two Taser X2 pistols and fifteen bulletproof vests for both men and women.

"It is a special day for Tinajo. We present the acquisition of fifteen defibrillators, vital to save lives, but also fifteen bulletproof vests and two Taser pistols. Little by little we have to equip the Police, the purchase of two four-wheel drive vehicles is also in process because there is a lot of dirt road in the municipality", said the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, who appeared together with the councilor of the area, Yurena Cubas, the Chief of Local Police, Eduardo Ferrer, and the agent Miriam Felipe.

In the same presentation, Jesús Machín confirmed the acquisition by the City Council of fifteen defibrillators that "will be placed in municipal facilities, socio-cultural centers, sports clubs, gymnasium, House of Culture, library, headquarters of the Local Police and Civil Protection".

The Tinajo City Council will inform through a press release, pages and official social networks of the location of the defibrillators and the courses to be held so that citizens can also learn about their operation. "Two courses have already been held on the use of defibrillators for City Council personnel and now we will begin to train the general public. We are the first municipality in Lanzarote that is totally cardio-protected, Tinajo can boast of that", said Councilor Yurena Cubas.
