The Tías City Council has put out to tender the works to adapt the La Asomada Sociocultural Center (CSC) for an amount of 263,225 euros, a project that will complete the rehabilitation of the island's teleclub network, unique and very characteristic public spaces that contribute to generating community and social life in the villages.
The Tías City Council invites all companies from Lanzarote to participate in this public tender, which is processed through an open procedure and will allow for the modernization and updating of facilities that are in high demand by the residents of La Asomada.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, highlighted that this tender "represents another step in our commitment to the towns of the municipality and to the preservation of those spaces that are part of the collective memory of Tías".
"The La Asomada teleclub is the last one we had left to rehabilitate, and with this project we close the circle, ensuring that all our communities have decent, accessible sociocultural centers prepared for the community life that their residents deserve," Cruz emphasized.
For his part, the Councilor for Public Works, Ulpiano Calero, explained that the planned action "is technically complex, which has required dedicating more time to the drafting of the project to ensure a comprehensive and quality intervention".
"We are talking about a space with many years of use, which needs a thorough renovation of its facilities, improved accessibility, adaptation of interior and exterior spaces, and an update in accordance with current regulations. This prior work has caused the project to take longer than in other teleclubs, but it allows us to now arrive at a solid solution, designed to last for many years," Calero pointed out.
The City Council is confident that, once the works are awarded, La Asomada will soon have a renovated sociocultural center, ready to host cultural, social, and neighborhood activities and continue strengthening community ties in the town.
