The PSOE of Arrecife has denounced in a press release that "the City Council with Yonathan de León and his partners have prioritized the culture of waste, and has abandoned Arrecife adrift, since they have assigned all technicians to pull off a sort of permanent spree with millions of euros squandered, despising the future of the city".

As a consequence of this, the socialists criticize that "nobody has worked on infrastructure projects and general needs, the council has to return ten million euros (specifically 9,963,998.00 euros) to the Cabildo de Lanzarote in cooperation plans that should have been invested in infrastructure for the city".

"In addition to these ten million uninvested, money that could improve the city, de León did not even bother to return the money on time and now the council will have to pay a fine of tens of thousands of euros in interest", they continue.

Cristina Duque, PSOE councilwoman in the Arrecife City Council, explains the "disaster of the current Government group": “If we add to those ten million euros returned, the interest that will have to be paid for the delays, and the more than 27 million in parties, the result is almost 40 million thrown away without improving the city in housing or basic infrastructure, a real disgrace of management”.

Duque comments that “de León is an inept who only prioritizes revelry while abandoning the city to its fate. And now that the businesses of his city council, the prosecutor's office investigate him, he is a character who has become a problem for the future of this city”.
