They prevent access to the Tahíche water tank by placing some rocks

"This action will only affect the town of Tahíche because the north line carries water from the Maneje tank to the end of La Graciosa", says the president of the Water Consortium

Rocks on the road to the Tahíche tank

The president of the Water Consortium and councilor of the Cabildo, Andrés Stinga, has explained that "someone has placed some stones on the road that leads to the Tahíche water tank to prevent access to it." This was explained this Friday on the program 'Buenos Días Lanzarote' of Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero. "We believe that the author is the owner of the land, although he has an easement that has been open for more than 30 years," adds Stinga.

"This action will only affect the town of Tahiche because the north line carries water from the Maneje Tank to the end of La Graciosa," says the president of the Consortium. "I am not threatening, but I do not believe that it is an action of the neighbors themselves, but of the owner of the land."

Stinga has announced that both this Friday and next Monday, February 27, he will meet with the lawyers to find out what procedure should be carried out. "That tank has a stopcock, it has to be cleaned and it supplies the town of Tahíche," says the president of the Consortium.

Water supply to the north of Haría and La Graciosa

As a result of the works on the North Pipeline, Stinga has stated that his "concern" is the citizens in their general scope. "I have the obligation to bring water to all the people of Lanzarote. And if in the north of Haría they are having this demand, as in La Graciosa, we cannot look the other way," explained Stinga.

The president of the Consortium explains that the North Pipeline "is a larger pipeline than the current one, which was calculated for the population of 30 years ago and that today is in poor condition and has many losses."
