The Yaiza City Council reported this Monday in a press release that it takes an average of 13 days to pay suppliers of works, materials and services. "Less than half of the legal term of 30 days from the moment of registration of the invoices", added the council.
These data are deduced from the payment balance so far this year, where the southern Administration has already paid almost three million euros to companies and freelancers.
Óscar Noda notes that “just as we comply with small and medium-sized companies, which are pillars of the economy, we are equally rigorous with payments to companies that provide essential services such as garbage collection and that is why we demand seriousness and responsibility.”
The mayor recalls that “the City Council's payment dynamic has always been marked by punctuality, but even in times of pandemic we decided to schedule more than two monthly payments to suppliers because we understood that the situation warranted it.”
Óscar Noda finally explains that “we ask companies that from the moment they can finalize and certify their works, they do so with the due municipal technical supervision to proceed with the payment and thus promote the maintenance and creation of jobs.”
