The City Council of Teguise has published in the Public Sector Procurement Platform the prior announcement of the file for the tender of the public service of management (collection) of municipal waste (organic fraction, remainder and bulky waste) and street cleaning of the municipality of Teguise.
With an execution period of 3 years with the possibility of increasing 2 more years, the specification includes services for the collection of urban solid waste, domestic waste, garbage collection, waste transport services, sanitation and cleaning in urban or rural areas and related services, and street cleaning and sweeping services.
Oswaldo Betancort celebrated that "the largest public service contract in the history of Teguise is already in the bidding phase with more than 15 million euros of own funds with the aim of achieving a municipality with an immaculate image, that meets sustainability criteria and improves collection and cleaning." "In addition, the service will have new containers and a fleet of vehicles adapted to the needs of each of the areas that make up our large municipality of Teguise and La Graciosa, as well as the optimal staff to offer the image it deserves," added Betancort.
The mayor of Teguise announced this Monday from the Villa that the expected start date of the award process -with an estimated contract value of 15,576,200 euros- will be next April 17.
"Ten years ago I found a hijacked and precarious service, without economic opportunity to solve it, and that is why today I am proud to say goodbye to Teguise leaving a contract worthy of a competitive municipality that will be a pioneer in waste management," said Betancort, who guarantees that "from the Contracting area, coordinated by Olivia Duque, the opening and evaluation of the administrative documentation for the contract bidding will be held on April 20 at 10 am."
