The Tías City Council has obtained a 9.48 in transparency. The grade was awarded by the Transparency Commissioner of the Canary Islands, an organ of the regional government that evaluates the portals of the Archipelago.
In a statement issued by the council, they emphasize that this outstanding grade "reflects the effort made by the Internal Regime and Transparency Area after its arrival in 2019, when they certified that the previous year only 2.55 had been achieved in transparency.
The work carried out by the institution from 2019 made that figure rise to 7.58 in 2020, 9.96 in 2021, and now stands at 9.48 in 2022. The average grade in the last evaluation of the 335 public entities of the Canary Islands was 7.82 points.
The Commissioner for Transparency and Access to Public Information of the Canary Islands is an organ created by the Transparency Law of the Canary Islands, which is attributed the promotion, analysis, control and protection of transparency and the right of access to public information in the scope of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.
The exercise of the functions attributed to it by the Law must act with autonomy and full independence. The regulation of this body is included in Title IV of the Law on Transparency and Access to Public Information of the Canary Islands.
