On the occasion of the general strike called by the Comisiones Obreras and Unión General de Trabajadores unions for Thursday, March 29, the government group of Tías, made up of the Partido Popular and San Borondón, has agreed with the union representatives of the Consistory on the minimum services that the Tías City Council will provide that day, in order to ensure the maintenance of the municipality's essential services.
The agreement establishes that school transport for public schools and institutes will be 100 percent respected, while the urban transport service will operate at 50 percent. The Citizen Service, General Registry and Mayor's Office will be covered by three people from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and sanitation and cleaning by two trucks with their corresponding equipment for daily waste collection, a jeep for collecting litter bins and a sweeping worker.
For its part, the Local Police Department will guarantee the service, as established by the legislation of State Security Forces and Corps, also including telephone service. The operation of the rest of the municipal services and buildings will depend on the impact of the strike among the workers.
