THE MANAGEMENT "HAS IT EASY" TO END THE LABOR DISPUTE, IT SAYS

The Strike Committee will report the opening of the Centers "without control" to the Civil Guard

It puts the strike's follow-up at 99.5% and accuses the management of putting the Centers "in danger" by opening them without surveillance. It claims that a tourist suffered a fall and others threw coins into the Jameos lake.

The Strike Committee has announced that this Wednesday it will file a complaint with the Civil Guard so that "responsibilities are determined" for the opening of the Tourist Centers "without control." According to the workers' representatives, the CACT management has put "the natural heritage of the Centers at risk," "being responsible for both what happens to people and the heritage."

In a statement, the Committee puts the follow-up of the strike at 99.5 percent on the first day, noting that the only ones who did not support it were the "managers and supervisors." However, despite the absence of personnel, centers such as Jameos del Agua and the Mirador del Río opened their doors this Tuesday. "The visitors were walking around without control, even a client suffering a fall for walking through a wet area, being evacuated by the workers who were on strike and by the Civil Guard," says the Strike Committee.

In addition, it states that "actions could also be seen, such as clients throwing coins into the Jameos lake, endangering the Jameito (albino crab)," as they announce they will state in their complaint.

"The workers themselves who were on strike were the ones who informed the clients of the closure of the Centers due to the strike," they add in their statement, questioning the management carried out by the CACT management. In addition, they maintain that this labor dispute "has an easy solution," "which is none other than complying with and abiding by a final judgment of the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands," which ruled in favor of the workers with respect to the collection of salary supplements included in the collective agreement.
