The seizure of the cleaning service from the company Salimpa by the City Council of Tías has not been enough to stop the strike that will affect garbage collection, cleaning of beaches and parks, and cleaning of the municipality's schools. This was confirmed by the mayor, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, who at the end of the meeting held this Thursday with the Works Council and the owners has stated that "the strike notice is still valid for December 6".

The committees of the companies Salimpa and Rinsa have reaffirmed the strike after the owners, who owe the last two payrolls to their workers, have not announced new intentions that convince them.

Pre-agreement in Arrecife

Where it was possible to stop the indefinite strike was in the schools of Arrecife, after a meeting held this Wednesday in the City Council of Arrecife. In it, the company Clusa committed to pay one of the outstanding salaries to the workers throughout the week in force, and the second, the following week.

In this way, it was possible to postpone the strike until next Wednesday, December 9, which would affect the maintenance of the eleven schools in Arrecife and which was scheduled to begin on the 2nd. The company's works council warned that "if the payrolls are not paid, we would start again".
