The Lanzarote Council announces the opening of the LZ-408 road (Nazaret-Vuelta Ajai), after a year of works and more than 3.5 million euros of investment. The actions have consisted of the conditioning of the road and the construction of a roundabout at its intersection with the LZ-10 road, improving the signage and safety of this section of the municipality of Teguise.
The president of the Lanzarote Council, María Dolores Corujo, highlighted the "great final result of this work and highlighted that this is just one of the 26 actions that have been carried out in Teguise through the Municipal Cooperation Plan in the last two years, for a value of close to 14 million euros".
"Teguise has been the municipality with the highest investment by the Island Institution in its history during these years, with the works on the Nazaret road or the North Axis pipeline standing out as the most significant and relevant actions for citizens. We have thus demonstrated our commitment to the residents of Teguise and have fulfilled the Plan and the promises to resolve many of the needs of these", the president remarked.
The Minister of Public Works, Alfredo Mendoza, expressed his satisfaction for having completed the action "despite the unforeseen events we faced" and stressed its importance in improving the safety of drivers and accessibility to the town. "The pavement has also been reinforced, sidewalks have been built on two local streets and access to the parking lot of the Nazaret Socio-Cultural Center has been improved," Mendoza detailed.
Featured actions in the municipality of Teguise
The most outstanding actions since 2019 in the municipality have been the Socio-Cultural Center in Caleta de Sebo; the execution of three free-use spaces in Tahíche; the renovation of the Socio-Cultural Center 'Fomento de Tao'; a green leisure area in Tahíche; the public lighting of Islas Canarias Avenue in Costa Teguise; a paving plan for several areas in Costa Teguise; a project for the adaptation and facilities in the Tahiche Sports Center; a paving plan that includes Tahiche, Nazaret, La Villa de Teguise and Guatiza; a paving plan on Avenida de Las Palmeras in Costa Teguise; repair of sidewalks and accessibility intervention in Costa Teguise; conditioning of the Mozaga-El Peñón road; the reinforcement of the Tahíche-Teguise road; installation of a roundabout at the intersection of Las Buganvillas streets and El Golf avenue. Costa Teguise; installation of a pipeline in the LZ-1; a bike lane in LZ-42; adaptation of a building for a cultural association; adaptation and commissioning of the C.S.C. of Los Valles; adaptation of spaces for eco-dining rooms in Teguise; restoration of the Mill and La Molina de Teguise, and the cycle paths of the El Mojón-Los Valles and Guatiza-El Mojón sections.
