The PSOE of Teguise has presented allegations to the Corporation's Budget for 2020, initially approved on December 16. "These allegations seek to fulfill commitments of our party, such as the increase in scholarships, the items for works in schools and the beginning of the revision of the current General Planning Plan."

Thus, with the aim of increasing educational investments, the socialist group intends to increase aid to students and families of the Municipality, providing 100,000 euros more to the item "Study scholarships", and also initiate the modification of the current bases that govern their concession to make them fairer and materialize their increase in the next course.

Similarly, it considers necessary to increase resources for carrying out works in schools that allow addressing historical claims such as providing shade spaces to numerous schools, improving their accessibility or the maintenance of facilities.

"Betting on education is the best future investment we can make in the Municipality, that is why it is important to increase study aid, making them fairer, and improve educational facilities, addressing the claims of the educational community, which we intend with the allegations presented," says socialist spokesman Marcos Bergaz.

On the other hand, they raise the need to initiate a process of revision of the general plan of the Municipality to face its update and help solve issues that affect numerous neighbors such as the small livestock farms existing in rural areas for years, the issue of the action units or facilitate the realization of different demanded infrastructures.

"In terms of planning, the Municipality needs to update its General Plan, as promised during the elections, and for this it must provide the Budget with a specific economic item for it, in a Municipality that also has pending issues such as the PRUG of the Chinijo Archipelago or the Special Plan of the Historic Center of La Villa," added Bergaz.

The socialist group hopes that the City Council Plenary will share these allegations in a Budget that "although it is not what the socialist party wants, we are willing to improve, because it is our obligation to look after the general interest," concluded the socialist mayor.
