Yonathan de León's response to Cristina Duque in the plenary session

The PSOE of Arrecife has criticized the mayor, Yonathan de León, of the Popular Party, for his "outburst" in the last plenary session, when, during the debate of a motion presented by the socialist group and debated by councilwoman Cristina Duque regarding the need to "reinforce cleanliness in the city," the mayor ended his intervention by addressing the socialist bench and concluding that "of course there are some rats and cockroaches in Arrecife, and they are not bugs."

The socialist spokesperson in the Arrecife City Council, Alfredo Mendoza, has stated that the mayor of Arrecife must "clarify his words and apologize" to the citizens for these manners, "less than vulgar," and reminds him that he must maintain "a minimum of correctness representing the citizens."

Mendoza added that "although they try to cover up their incompetence and negligence through this type of outburst, we will continue to expose the city's shames and those for which the government group is responsible."

"We will continue to defend the needs of Arrecife and demand the correctness and dignity that the people of Arrecife deserve from their public representatives," he concluded.
