The PSOE has denounced to the Electoral Board the attack suffered against its electoral advertising." On the night from Friday to Saturday, the night in which the campaign ends, an undetermined number of billboards appeared located next to the outdoor advertising of the Socialist Party with messages against the PSOE that made an undue and illegitimate use of the party's symbols," they point out from the party.
From the PSOE they explain that "the Party's membership mobilized quickly and the warnings followed one another through the messaging groups and a device was organized to remove the aforementioned posters."
"As a consequence of these intolerable events," the Party's leadership has denounced them at the Arrecife police station of the National Police and before the Electoral Board.
The island secretary of the PSOE and candidate for the Presidency of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, has warned of the seriousness of these events: «This is an unprecedented campaign, unworthy and of an unacceptable level of dirt, so much so that they have had to hide and place those despicable posters at night, in the dark, and without identifying who is responsible for them».
«Their cowardice betrays them. When the PSOE makes a criticism or denounces a situation, it always does so head-on, without hiding, placing its logo and acronym in front. We don't need to hide because, unlike these cowardly cheaters, we have nothing to hide», Corujo pointed out.
The socialist candidate recalled the hostile environment in which the electoral process has taken place: «This campaign has been very hard. Not only have we had to face our political adversaries and the usual media mercenaries democratically, but we have also had the Chamber of Commerce as an opponent, which Coalición Canaria subcontracted part of its dirty campaign to to end with an intolerable trick that violates the rules of electoral behavior».
Corujo expressed her hope that these reprehensible events will be clarified and that those responsible will be brought to justice. «We have received calls with some data that may allow us to identify the material authors of this authentic attack against democracy and the cleanliness of the electoral process», she concluded.
Finally, Corujo states that "this is an unprecedented campaign, unworthy and of an unacceptable level of dirt, so much so that they have had to hide and place those despicable posters at night, in the dark, and without identifying who is responsible for them. Their cowardice betrays them. When the PSOE makes a criticism or denounces a situation, it always does so head-on, without hiding, placing its logo and acronym in front. We don't need to hide because, unlike these cowardly cheaters, we have nothing to hide".
