The PSOE has accused the mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, of "wasting" more than 1.5 million public euros in the celebration of the Christmas holidays of the capital. For the socialists this is "a sad record in the history of the city", while they have denounced that "the plague of rats, the dirt, and the needs of the city are not solved".
According to a press release issued by the socialists, "the Navipelotazo was the starting gun for a permanent spree in which they have turned the daily management of the city. While, the Navilan plot split contracts for more than 600,000 euros, giving away the use of public land to companies close to the Popular Party, on the other hand, de León melted more than 860 thousand euros, in different concepts, always linked to the party and permanent festival."
From the PSOE they have pointed out that "someone has to put a stop" to the mayor of Arrecife, whom they have reproached for "despising the true needs of Arrecife.”
To conclude, the socialists have added that "the list of needs of the city is enormous: from cleaning, to the maintenance of schools, aid to companies, real revitalization of commerce or water infrastructures. Instead of that, this mayor is dedicated to spending all the money on a permanent party, without prioritizing serious objectives. Going down in history as the most partying mayor of Arrecife is not a reason for pride", concluded Cristina Duque.
