The councilor of the Socialist Group in the Cabildo of Lanzarote and former CEO of the Tourist Centers, Benjamín Perdomo, has accused the current councilor, Ángel Vázquez, of "acting as a puppet of interests that have nothing to do with the public" for having left on the table, without a convincing explanation, the price increase that should have been approved today by the Board of Directors of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo of Lanzarote.
Perdomo has reproached Vázquez for his "lack of rigor and transparency": "The rates of the Centers are not modified by a whim of the councilor and if the proposal has been withdrawn, he will have to explain why." "We fear that the councilor has succumbed to pressure from the employers, the main beneficiaries of the fact that rates are not increased," explained Perdomo.
4.5 million in profits in 2022
Perdomo recalled that last year the Centers reached a record figure of "4.5 million in profits", despite "the interested noise created by the Canarian Coalition and the Popular Party, who have never believed in the public company and its staff and now intend to start a smear campaign."
"Precisely to try to cover up that excellent news, they apply a fraudulent canon to the 2021 financial year, to artificially generate a high volume of losses without considering, moreover, that 2021 was marked by the pandemic," explained the councilor.
Perdomo concluded by pointing out that he had to "request Ángel Vázquez for the second time to give him the 2023 data", which demonstrate "an exceptional trajectory of the Centers that the current government team intends to hide."
