The spokesperson for the Socialist Group in the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Ariagona González, has accused Oswaldo Betancort of concealing information about the actions taken against Canal Gestión by the Water Consortium of Lanzarote, both during Loli Corujo's term and during this first year of the new government.
"We have been waiting since August 8 and we still do not have this documentation. This lack of transparency is very serious, we are being denied fundamental information for our control role, despite how much Oswaldo Betancort likes to boast about transparency," González explained.
"As of today, we have not been answered and, on the contrary, we have been informed that they still do not have this information, as they are preparing it. If this is the case, if they really do not have this information, we wonder on what basis Oswaldo Betancort has dared to accuse the PSOE of inactivity during the previous term," González reproached.
"Although I wouldn't be surprised. Oswaldo has shown that he is a true specialist in occurrences, in speaking without knowing, without looking at the papers and without respect for the truth, and he has done it again on this occasion, he has lied when he stated that Canal Gestión was not controlled during the previous term," the socialist spokesperson assured.
"To such an extent is this the case, that the report presented by Oswaldo Betancort on the breaches of Canal Gestión is based, precisely, on some of the claims and legal actions initiated during Loli Corujo's term, which he has left to gather dust in the drawers for more than a year," the councilor explained.
For González, "it is clear that Oswaldo fears that it will be known that during this year he has done nothing more than present Power Points and make bombastic statements, when the truth is that there have never been so many continuous cuts in the water supply."
«We want to know if Oswaldo Betancort, as president of the Consortium, has initiated any type of action against Canal over these months and, especially, we are very interested in knowing when he requested the famous report», the socialist spokesperson concluded.
