The real surprise in the Tías Town Hall was given by Francisco Hernández, candidate for Mayor for the PP. Los populars have been the most voted force in this Consistory and have snatched the power from the PSOE, after almost three decades of socialist management.
Pancho Hernández's candidacy has achieved 8 councilors, one more than in 2007, and one more also than his socialist rival, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, who on this occasion has lost by one councilor. Thus, while Hernández has obtained 2,156 votes and the support of 41.35 percent of the electorate, the PSOE has obtained 1,817 votes and 34.85 percent of the votes.
The candidacy of CC, headed by Pedro Calero, has had to settle for one councilor, which is the same as he got in 2007. Thus, Calero has obtained 453 votes and the support of 8.69 percent of the electorate.
Another significant fact has been the loss of the only councilor that the PIL held in this Town Hall. Thus, the independents have been left without representation, with which Manuel Cabrera will be left out of the institution. The councilor that the PIL has lost has been won by a new party, San Borondón.
5,344 people have voted in the Tías Town Hall, which means that there has been a participation of 56.21 percent. On the contrary, abstention has been 43.79 percent and in this Consistory there have also been 130 null votes and 147 blank votes.
