The strong statements made by José Manuel Soria, regional president of the PP, after the celebration of the Regional Executive Committee, have not shrunk the decision taken by the seven councilors of the Popular Party in the town hall of La Oliva, who persist in their decision to vote in favor of the motion of censure to the current government team in the City Council, and which they have presented jointly with two councilors from the PSOE.
The Secretary of Organization in Fuerteventura, José Gómez, does not admit that the information he has about the decisions of the Regional Executive Committee, reach him through the media and not through a formal notification, "or at least, a phone call".
"The way the Party President acts at the Regional level, José Manuel Soria in these last two days is not adequate", and José Gómez confirms the fact that "at no time has he wanted to know our opinion". And he adds, "when the motion of censure was presented jointly by PP and PSOE, in the City Council of Antigua, Soria said nothing, however here it seems that he has hidden interests against the possibility that arises in the City Council of La Oliva".
In this sense, the insular Executive of the PP, maintains its support for the councilors, members of the party who will present themselves to vote in plenary session, in favor of the motion of censure, on the 9th in La Oliva, "because the party is more united than ever, and this is the decision we have made, because it is the best for the municipality of La Oliva". Decision based according to Gómez, in that "the interests of the people are above the interests of political parties, and of a man who lives in Gran Canaria and wants to decide on the island of Fuerteventura", sentencing, "we know better than anyone what happens on a day-to-day basis on the ground. The situation of La Oliva is in a bad situation in which we have to act, and the way to act is this motion of censure, proposing a new government team".
Regarding Soria's statements about the "alliance" that Domingo González Arroyo maintains with López Aguilar, José Gómez, believes that "Soria has lost his mind, and that together with González Arroyo is the entire party, this is not a personal decision of Domingo González, whom Soria must respect because like him, he was democratically elected in a Congress".
"Soria can do and say what he wants, but this is a decision of seven people who believe that this is the best for the municipality, and the Popular Party of Fuerteventura is going to support them", and recalls that among the post-agreements made at the regional level "the first one who has agreed with the PSOE has been Soria, so now what is he coming to tell us".
José Gómez also refers to the numerous expressions of support that he is receiving at the regional level from colleagues who do not agree with the statements or the way José Manuel Soria acts, creating discord within the PP, "I remember that Mr. Soria in the last Congress of the Popular Party in Valencia, the political report he presented included 'preferential agreements of the PP with the PSOE'".
Gómez also announces that in the next Board of Directors of Fuerteventura, he will propose that an Informative File be drafted in which the statements made by Soria are collected, "coercing the members of the PP in Fuerteventura through the media, a method that demonstrates on the part of Soria a dictatorial line that seems to want to seek the internal division of the party, since a Congress is approaching in the month of October, in which he does not have the forces so clear in his favor".
