The PP criticizes CC's "opportunism" with the CACT case: "It is surprising that it took 9 years to appear"

The PP has been "surprised" that CC has taken nine years to appear as a private prosecution in the case of the Tourist Centers against Carlos Espino and has criticized the "political opportunism" of the nationalists.

"It is surprising that those who have been carrying the lawsuit from the Tourist Centers for almost nine years and who did nothing, (Pedro San Ginés, president of the Board of Directors and president of the Cabildo), now that the judge has resolved the file, decide to appear in the case. It is surprising, and very much so, that CC now wants to appeal when for many years of co-government with the PSOE they did not even move the file, nor did they do so with the debt accumulated by certain travel agencies that they put in the drawer and never claimed", the popular ones point out.

The PP reaffirms its "maximum respect for Justice and judicial decisions" and reiterates that it will not fall into the "invitations" of CC in relation to a possible appeal "when its actions in relation to this matter are revealing serious inconsistencies and a clear disparity of criteria between the party itself and the political group in the Cabildo; at the moment in which the councilor Juan Manuel Sosa resigns from the CC spokesperson in the first island institution.

And it is that, the popular ones affirm that "it is not trivial" to point out that while the majority of members of the CC Permanent Commission "decided last Tuesday not to appeal", "now the CC Group in Cabildo communicates that it will do so before Monday".

Accuses CC of wanting to "divert attention" from its "irresponsibility"

Thus, the PP affirms that "it is not going to fall into the political opportunism of CC, which only wants to divert attention from the irresponsibility they have had in these years for not promoting the procedure when it governed with the PSOE in the first island corporation".

For this reason, the Popular Party transfers to CC "to assume its responsibility, because the nationalists are the only ones responsible for what has happened with the processing of the criminal procedure while they have been in charge of the Tourist Centers".

"It is not valid that now they want to get rid of their responsibility by blaming the Popular Party for the inaction they have maintained in the processing of the judicial case where the former general secretary of the PSOE in Lanzarote is channeled, among others, add the popular ones, who conclude by pointing out that "what is clear is that it will not be the PP who questions the judicial resolutions as CC has been doing until now, to the point of even making it clear that the judge was unable to enter into the substance of the matter".
