The PP blames the latest robberies in San Bartolomé on the "deficit" of local police

It denounces that in three and a half years of mandate no agent has been incorporated, "which has caused a progressive deterioration of the service" and an increase in "insecurity".

The Popular Party of San Bartolomé denounces that the municipality is experiencing a situation of "insecurity, due to the deficit of agents that the service has been dragging along throughout the mandate." In fact, it has attributed to that events recorded recently, such as the attempted robbery at the atelier of the designer Oswaldo Machín.

"The deficit in the security of the municipality favors the possibility of incidents occurring with total impunity, as is the case of the robberies recently perpetrated in some establishments in San Bartolomé", the populars point out in a statement.

In this regard, they question that "three and a half years after the new corporation was confirmed, the municipal government has been unable to carry out the hiring of new agents, which has led to a progressive deterioration of the service."

For the local president of the PP, Jeziel Martín, "the lack of security is not a new or minor issue", and recalls that it has been one of the issues on which he has insisted the most since he assumed his new responsibility within the committee. "Our colleagues in the City Council have raised this issue in numerous plenary sessions without our requests being taken into account, and not only that, but even our motions have been rejected, denying, on occasions, that there is any security problem in the municipality," denounces the local leader.

From the Popular Party of San Bartolomé they insist that "the lack of police officers is a priority issue that worries the residents and merchants of the municipality", and they maintain that they have been personally transferred to them.

Jeziel Martín recalls that "more than two years ago, the City Council, due to lack of resources, transferred the selective processes for the incorporation of new agents to the Government of the Canary Islands, although later it reassumed them to directly carry out the call."

"While other municipalities on the island have taken advantage of this mandate to carry out competitions for the hiring of new local police officers, the socialist government of San Bartolomé has wasted time without calling a single position" and "without even joining the agreement that has been made to carry out the first unified opposition of local agents", he denounces.
