Although Coalición Canaria has valued the technical solvency of the drafting team, which they consider "very competent", they also regretted not yet having, after 10 months since they started working, the progress document "which would be a document already with clear proposals", according to Marciano Acuña. Thus, he considers that there is a "significant delay" in the PIOT review process, which still has a long way to go before its completion.
Regarding the diagnostic work prepared by Ezquiaga, Marciano Acuña, from Coalición Canaria, explained that "they accurately propose three main lines: economic diversification, which is necessary because we have an economy very dependent on the exterior, specific attention to the primary sector, since in the 1991 PIOT these needs were not so present, and an energy sustainability project, which bets on a greater presence of clean energies".
For its part, the Partido Popular, which met with Ezquiaga at 1 p.m., defined the work carried out to date by the drafting team as "rigorous, serious and objective", although they stated that it is still in a very early stage. "The new document should respond, among other things, to providing quality fundamentally through the infrastructures that citizens require in terms of energy, waste and quality of services such as transport, and on the other hand, there were important sectors that should be contemplated such as the primary sector", declared the councilor in the opposition Francisco Cabrera.
