The Teguise City Council received last October the work of the new Civic Center of Las Caletas, and after fine-tuning its facilities, "the social project that will boost the neighborhood activity of the coastal nucleus is already a reality that the caleteros can enjoy", they point out from the Consistory.
The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, and his government colleagues "thus fulfill the commitment acquired with the residents of the town of Las Caletas, to whom he gave the keys that open the doors of this socio-cultural center that joins the extensive network of teleclubs in the municipality", they explain from the City Council.
“In this case, we hand over the key and, therefore, the management and use of this new space, whose modern facilities will serve as a meeting point for the residents of Las Caletas”, said Betancort during the event, which was attended accompanied by the Councilor for Contracting, Olivia Duque, and the head of Roads and Works, Eugenio Robayna.
Located next to the playground, the sports court and the ball court, the Civic Center of Las Caletas, "is configured as a space for cultural, social and sports revitalization, for which a total investment of 280,000 euros has been allocated, which has made it possible to provide the nucleus of entry to the municipality of Teguise from Arrecife, with an infrastructure that houses leisure areas for children, young people and adults, and in which the municipal staff has intervened to condition the exteriors of the center and will be responsible for its maintenance, as well as the provision of furniture and decoration", they point out from the City Council.
Betancort also celebrated “the good rhythm of the future Civic Center of Costa Teguise, a socio-cultural center that, together with the Sports City, will give a great boost to the initiative and citizen participation of the Costa Teguise community, which is increasingly large and, therefore, more demanding in terms of services, infrastructure and quality of life”.
