The Haría City Council has welcomed that "the new docks of the port of Órzola can finally be used, after the investment of the regional government." Precisely, this Monday, the northern mayor, Marci Acuña, visited the new infrastructures together with the Minister of Public Works and Transport of the regional Executive, Pablo Rodríguez.
From the Consistory it is pointed out that "it is a highly demanded work and an old demand of the fishermen of the north of the island, which will allow the workers of the sea to develop their work in better conditions." Later, the sports boats that had their mooring there will also be ordered, it is indicated.
The investment of the regional Executive, which exceeded 300,000 euros, will allow increasing the moorings from 50 to 70, "which will favor the port to be used by larger ships".

The Municipal Corporation recalls that it had requested that the promised investments be expedited and that priority be given to the construction of docks and the improvement of the mooring line of the boats in the port of Órzola, as well as the expansion of the breakwater and the ramp of the cargo barge that operates with the island of La Graciosa.
"It was only fair that the Government responded to our demands and attended to the claims of a port that has required urgent investments for some time, given the volume of business and transit of people that it has acquired in recent times," said Marci Acuña.
