The Platform of the Municipality of Haría (PMH) has proposed in a press release to expand the network of water tanks in the municipality and install a desalination plant to end water cuts.

The candidate for mayor of Haría for the Platform of the Municipality of Haría, Evelia García, points out that "it is unacceptable that in the 21st century the residents of Haría suffer water restrictions".

In this line, García has stated that if her party governs next May 28, the first thing she will do is "put solutions to the water cuts that are occurring in our municipality and that are affecting the residents of Haría".

To this end, "the Platform of the Municipality of Haría will agree with the Lanzarote Water Consortium to expand the network of water tanks", since "it is clear that those that exist are insufficient to meet the water demand of citizens and people staying in the municipality".

On the other hand, García has pointed out that the PMH will initiate, if it governs, the procedures for "the installation of a desalination plant in Haría, which operates with clean energy, and that raises the water to the Mountain of Haría so that, with the action of gravity, it can be distributed throughout the town".

"We are aware that water is a scarce resource, and therefore, we will implement actions that facilitate the reuse of water for irrigation, thus guaranteeing the supply for our farmers and ranchers," said Evelia García.

And she added that "municipal awareness and training campaigns will be launched with the aim of promoting a rational use of water".
