The Local Police of Tías has recovered the office located in Playa Grande "with the purpose of improving the conditions of the agents assigned to the beach service, in addition to providing users with facilities where they can go in case of demanding police assistance", according to the City Council
The Councilor for the Local Police, Mame Fernández, recently visited the facilities, which "are already fully operational." The beach surveillance police service is made up of four agents and remains operational during the summer season.

Among other functions of its competence, according to the Consistory, "its main mission is to control street vending, annoying games, thefts and other incidents that may occur on the beaches of the municipality, in close collaboration with the lifeguard service that is also deployed in those".
