The Haría City Council presents the definitive project for the future Senior Center in a public event where the plans and virtual recreations of the final result of this new social infrastructure aimed at promoting active aging were unveiled.
The project includes the comprehensive rehabilitation of the property acquired by the council, with the aim of transforming it into a modern, functional, and fully accessible space. The new facilities will be oriented towards fostering the coexistence of the municipality's seniors, social participation, and the development of revitalization initiatives.
The future Senior Center will feature multipurpose rooms for training, cultural, and recreational activities, as well as meeting areas and spaces adapted to the needs of users. The design incorporates criteria of universal accessibility, energy efficiency, and comfort, in order to respond to the current and future demands of the municipality's senior population.
During the presentation, the mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, highlighted the strategic importance of the project. “With this Senior Center, we are taking a decisive step in strengthening our social policies and improving the quality of life of our seniors,” he stated.
Villalba added that “this space is much more than a building; it is a meeting point designed for participation, coexistence, and active aging,” further emphasizing the City Council's commitment “to modern, accessible, and useful facilities for the citizens.”
For her part, the councilor for Social Welfare and Seniors, Evelia García, indicated that the future Senior Center will represent “a modern, accessible space adapted to the needs of our seniors, designed to foster coexistence, participation, and active aging.” She also assured that this project will offer new opportunities for the development of social, cultural, and training activities in a comfortable and safe environment.
The presented recreations allowed for visualizing the transformation of the property and the distribution of the different spaces that will make up the new center, conceived as a municipal benchmark for the development of workshops, programs, and activities.
