The Water Consortium sent a tanker with 13,000 cubic liters this Saturday in response to the request of a merchant user from the Villa de Teguise, who had problems because "his installation is not prepared for the volume he consumes." This was announced by the entity, which states that "it continues working to provide its subscribers with the necessary services to ensure the supply of drinking water."
“These types of actions in defense of consumers are more common than the population thinks,” commented the president of the Cabildo and the Consortium, Oswaldo Betancort; who adds: “These quick solutions are possible and will be more common every day because we are putting muscle into a Consortium that until now was under-equipped and without resources to maneuver.”
Currently, "there are no incidents and there is no merchant in the Villa de Teguise who has had to restrict their activity due to problems in the supply of drinking water," the entity assured.
There are several dozen commercial establishments that carry out their work in the Historic Site, and all remain open without supply problems; also on Sundays, when water consumption skyrockets due to the celebration of the traditional popular market.
"The Consortium, in its effort to introduce improvements and plan the supplies of a good that is always scarce in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, has established specific nightly cuts in recent weeks that help generate a reserve that is then used in the agricultural and livestock network of the area," they added.
“From the Lanzarote Water Consortium we are redoubling efforts and multiplying personnel to coordinate with the operator of the integral water cycle (which is now reporting the cuts on the website), address the legitimate demands of users and provide solutions,” said the vice president of the entity, Domingo Cejas.
