The judge of the Court of Instruction Number 4 of Arrecife, Aurora García, extended last night the detention of Javier Betancort, former Finance Councilor of San Bartolomé and president of the Wine Regulatory Council, after taking his statement for more than six hours.

The auditor, Carlos Sáenz, arrested last Tuesday in Arrecife, testified this Thursday for several hours before the judge of Court Number Five of Puerto del Rosario, and was then transferred back to Lanzarote, where he spent the night. This Friday he is expected to testify in the Courts of Arrecife.

The former Finance Councilor of Arrecife, José Miguel Rodríguez, entered to testify around midnight on Thursday, and left the Courts around 1:30 am, after being released with charges, accused of an alleged crime of embezzlement.
