The current mayoress of Haría and candidate for mayoress for the Platform of the Municipality of Haría, Evelia García, celebrated this Tuesday, March 28, that the Transparency Commissioner has scored the Haría Town Hall with an 8.16 in the Transparency Index of the Canary Islands, "increasing by tenths the score obtained in 2020, which was 7.98", as stated by the Council.

“It is magnificent news for the municipality and for the Town Hall that Haría obtains a high grade in transparency”, said García, who added that "her commitment since she assumed the municipal management, first as a councillor and then as mayoress, “has been more than evident”, because “in our opinion, town halls and other institutions have to have glass walls, be 100% transparent, and facilitate access to information for citizens”.

In this sense, she recalled that “the Platform of the Municipality of Haría had in its programme the commitment to transparency”, and in that line “we have been working from minute one”.

"We hope that in the next report of the Transparency Commissioner we will obtain an outstanding grade”

“We are optimistic and hope, if the people of Haría give us their confidence next May 28, that in the next report of the Transparency Commissioner we will obtain an outstanding grade”.

For his part, the president of the PMH and councillor for Transparency and Heritage, José Torres Stinga, pointed out that “the first precept that the Platform of the Municipality of Haría has set for itself in the local institution is that of transparency”, because “all the residents have to know what is happening in the municipality, as well as the management that is being carried out in the town hall”.
