The Ministry of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the National Parks Coordination Service, will increase the number of guided routes in the Timanfaya National Park of Lanzarote from next August.
The regional councilor responsible for the Area, José Antonio Valbuena, has explained that training activities are currently being carried out by interpreting guides of this natural space, with more than 30 years of experience, to new guides of the company that provides this service in Timanfaya.
These new routes, carried out on foot in small groups and accompanied by the interpreting guide, "will contribute to the visitor having a unique contact with the National Park and being able to learn in depth about its geology, flora and fauna", according to the Ministry.
All information on schedules and availability of these activities will be available in the online reservation center found on the National Parks website: https://www.reservasparquesnacionales.es/real/parquesnac/usu/html/listado-actividades-oapn.aspx?cen=6 .
José Antonio Valbuena has also announced that during the next academic year the Timanfaya National Park will reinforce interpretation activities in educational centers and social entities of Lanzarote.
The training process for the new guide-interpreters began in early July with face-to-face public use days at the Mancha Blanca Visitors Center and has been reinforced with a continuous learning process at other points of interest in this natural enclave.
