The Government declares the energy rehabilitation of protected housing in Los Lirios as urgent

These immediate works also affect other urbanizations in Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Tenerife

The Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Mobility of the Government of the Canary Islands, directed by Pablo Rodríguez, through the Canary Housing Institute (ICAVI), has declared the processing of the administrative contracting file for the execution of the energy rehabilitation works of seven groups of protected housing of public promotion located on the islands of Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and Tenerife as urgent.

These actions will be developed within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and will be financed through European Next Generation funds, with the aim of improving the energy efficiency of the properties, their sustainability and habitability.

On the island of Gran Canaria, the project will be carried out in three developments. In the municipality of Firgas, the energy rehabilitation of 40 homes called Lomo El Pino will be undertaken. In Moya, work will be carried out on the 42 properties in the Trujillo group. Likewise, in Santa Brígida, improvement works will be carried out on the 25 homes in Las Arenillas.

In Fuerteventura, the works will be developed in the municipality of Puerto del Rosario, where the 50 homes of the Fabelo group will be energy rehabilitated. For its part, on the island of Lanzarote, the initiative contemplates the rehabilitation of the 60 homes of the Los Lirios complex, located in the municipality of Tías, which will allow optimizing the energy conditions of these public promotion properties.

Finally, in Tenerife, the actions will be carried out in two municipalities. In San Cristóbal de La Laguna, work will be carried out on the 59 homes of the La Hornera group, while in La Orotava, the 66 properties called La Torrita will be rehabilitated.
