The Governing Council authorized this Tuesday the creation of a Center for Compulsory Education (CEO) in La Graciosa, municipality of Teguise, by transforming the Ignacio Aldecoa School of Early Childhood and Primary Education (CEIP).
The new CEO will have capacity for 165 school places. Organic Law 2/2006, of May 3, on Education, provides in its article 111.5 that the educational administrations are responsible for naming those public centers that offer grouped teachings in a different way to those defined in the aforementioned article.
Currently, CEIP Ignacio Aldecoa educates students from Infant, Primary and the first cycle of ESO. Next year, when the transformation of the school into a CEO materializes, it will incorporate students from the 3rd and 4th levels of ESO into its classrooms, who are currently studying at IES Haría, a center that has a school residence in its vicinity.
