The Governing Council of the Cabildo of Lanzarote approved this Thursday in an ordinary session the final award of transport aid for official studies outside the island for the 2013/2014 academic year. In this call, 24 allegations have been received and nine files have been corrected. Specifically, 1,719 applications have been submitted, of which 1,588 were successful and 131 were unsuccessful. The aid that the beneficiaries of this concept will receive is 220.40 euros.

Also in the educational field, the Council gave its approval to the regulatory bases for the granting of extraordinary educational aid that, once this procedure is completed, will be submitted to the Corporation's Plenary in its next ordinary session. The drafting of these bases is a commitment acquired last year by the government team after the approval of the aid that was granted as an emergency to students who saw the continuity of their studies in danger for economic reasons.

In this way, the government group has ensured that the elaboration of this roadmap that regulates the issuance of a new call is fulfilled. This would take place in the event that there was a surplus of the study aid issued by the Cabildo itself.

In another order of things, the Governing Council gave its approval to the publication of the provisional list of awards of the subsidies corresponding to the pilot initiative of the Employment Area of the Cabildo, "Lanzarote Emprende". Once the provisional list is published on the notice board and on the website of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, those interested will have ten business days to present allegations in the official registry of the Corporation.

In this regard, twenty business projects have been, provisionally, beneficiaries of this aid, the amount of which will be 2,950 euros for each one.
