About 450 clay figures, 50 houses, 30 boats, 60 palm trees and trees, in addition to an infinity of elements and miniature props fill a space of 200 square meters in the José Ramírez Cerdá Park, in the heart of Arrecife, since last Saturday.
This is the traditional Nativity Scene of the capital of Lanzarote, which opened its doors to the public this morning and which on Saturday afternoon was officially visited by the mayor, Yonathan de León Machín, and the Councilor for Festivities, Echedey Eugenio, as well as those responsible for the different areas participating in the Christmas program and other representatives of the capital Corporation.

The assembly of this spectacular Nativity Scene, with its own lighting and sound, has been coordinated by the Festivities Area in collaboration with different municipal areas, and the staff of the Arrecife City Council has worked on it, under the direction and design of Juan José Torres, Tejure, and Pedro Villalba.
This is a design of classical inspiration, with a clear evocation of the domestic architecture and local landscape of Lanzarote, which together with the volcanoes, this year also incorporates ancient mountains of the islands such as Montaña Mina, among others.
Also, special mention should be made of the reference to the old Naos dock and other marine elements that pay tribute to Arrecife in the year in which the municipality celebrates the 225th anniversary of its foundation.
For the elaboration of this Nativity Scene, a great variety of materials have been used such as: wood, porex, polyester, clay, sands, paints, etc.

The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, and the Councilor for Festivities, Echedey Eugenio, invite the public to enjoy one of the main icons of Christmas, in whose enclave (the José Ramírez Cerdá park) the traditional Christmas Market will be inaugurated on the 18th, and one of the great surprises of these holidays can be admired: the projection of a video mapping on a sheet of water (from December 22nd).
The Nativity Scene can be visited until January 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. from Monday to Sunday, with a special schedule for December 24 and 31, which will be from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
