The cleaning, maintenance and waste collection workers of Costa Teguise, have called off the indefinite strike that was scheduled for this Monday, after the employees received their payroll last Friday, as confirmed by Juan Bernal from Intersindical Canaria.
The strike was called by Intersindical Canaria due to delays in the payment of wages since, according to them, the company had been delaying the payment of wages "for several months" and thus failing to comply with "the agreed dates".
In this sense, they pointed out that the payrolls were being paid on the 17th or 20th and that the one corresponding to the month of May had been collected "on June 20th".
For this reason, the workers decided to call an indefinite strike for this Monday, July 11, which would affect all employees and all shifts. However, after the company paid the payrolls last Friday, the strike was called off.
